Annika H

Annika was born and raised in Ann Arbor, MI, home of the University of Michigan. She went on her first backpacking trip in the summer of her junior year with Outward Bound in North Carolina and has been hooked ever since.

Annika found her college experience very fulfilling working with kids with learning disabilities. She earned her degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. Post college, Annika taught in California at an Outdoor Science School and in Wyoming at a GAP year program.

A successful through hiker, Annika has most recently completed the Te Araroa Trail in New Zealand completing 2,000 miles.  Upon completion and her return to the US, Annika made a clear decision to work in the field of wilderness therapy. Annika feels fortunate to have landed at Elements and hopes to help others develop self-confidence, social skills and personal independence.

When not working, Annika can be found hiking, rock climbing or practicing yoga.
